Did you know that Rosa Parks was born at home? Although we are not certain of the exact house, George Sandidge, our illustrator, and I were able to do enough research to create what we think it looked like in Who Was Born at Home?

Where was Jesus Born?

Where was Jesus born? At home? Not even. A stable. And we love it.

If he was born in a hospital then would there be reconstructions of hospital beds and incubators in front of churches? No disrespect. Just asking.

Any of you have births on the go? Cabs? Forests? Hallways? Please share!
Happy Holidays!!!

Giveaway Winner!

Congratulations to Bethany Reine of City Thistle Handmade Jewelry and Things

who won the first Who Was Born at Home?  giveaway on the fabulous blog Marvelous Kiddo!

Look out for more giveaways soon!

Ok, it was yesterday…

But I was home with a sick child and did not get to post this amazing home birth fact.

Frank Sinatra was born at home

on December 12, 1915

at 415 Monroe Street

in Hoboken, NJ

and here is the marker to prove it!

The house that “Old Blue Eyes” was born in burned to the ground in the 1970s. Today, it remains an empty lot that is used for storage. The marker can be seen to the left of the gate.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could interview Natalie Della Garaventa and ask her for her birth story?

Do you have any amazing celebrity home births you know about? We’d love to hear about it!

Sales of Who Was Born at Home? are slowly and steadily increasing. In the meantime, I have decided to feature home births of the day. Today is Diego Rivera’s birthday. His beautiful birth house has been restored and is now a museum.

I love this photo of crowds of people leaving his house.

What do you think they would say about home birth?

That’s right. Who Was Born at Home? has decided to donate 1 %

of all sales to Choices for Childbirth. So…what are you waiting for?
